Turkey's economy is one of the most oil-dependent economies in the world. It is facing it tough to restrict increasing energy prices and it is lead the country towards a balance-of-payments crisis. Turkey has the rights to go nuclear like India for peaceful purpose.

Its all because of power purposes and the nuclear plants would produce electric energy to meet the demands of energy. There is nothing like nuclear race in the region because Turkey and Iran are not adversaries.

Saudi Arabia is also ready to join the race after Turkey. We would also develop nuclear weapons if Iran acquires it even after the pressure coming from western countries. We have our energy needs too.
