Wow! It only reminds of this episode in friends when pheobe wants a stripper for rachel’s baby shower. Completely inappropriate but well such is life and the beings in it.

Why is it inappropriate?
The son is only fulfilling his dad’s promise.

Perhaps a ghost can appreciate the aesthetic merit of the female form as much as any live man...
Someone somewhere famous once said that once someone dies we do not need to be sad for them - they are gone and no longer need our sadness... and I think that we need to celebrate their life... if they choose to do it with a dancer in this way - it can hardly be inappropriate. Death is one’s final role and if one chooses to go out this way and no one is being hurt or exploited in any way, I personally can’t see what’s wrong with it...

Oops - actually read the article and saw this: “Local villagers believe that the more people who attend the funeral, the more the dead person is honoured.”
What better way to make more people come to a funeral than a bit of cheap voyeuristic hedonism... ?

That is indeed embracing death with style. A man who lived past hundred sure deserved the treat!

Was this his death wish? Perhaps he was happy then to see the stripper in his coffin.
I guess the male population who witnessed the strip dance were in awe. Would they like to have a stripper when they die?
An innovation in a funeral than to see people crying and lonely!

Fulfilling his father’s death wish may have regaled the latter’s soul for sure. The post should invite, instead of opinions, aspirants who would try to follow the suit. May be, a hell lot of people. Really, deceased received a very well deserved grand departure.

a shocking idea when one hears it for the first time. but, on second thoughts, why not say goodbye in a way the deceased would have liked the best?

Nice idea. It’s a tribute to a person who just did not live but enjoyed his life. One need not take it as blasphemous or vulgar. May his soul rest in peace!
